Jeff Coston won the Hawaii Senior State Open for the second time in three years by edging multiple PGA and Champions Tour winner Dave Eichelberger by a shot. Jeff made a 9 foot put on the final hole for the victory.
Coston, Eichelberger, former U.S. Open Champion Scott Simpson and Ishi were all tied entering the final round. The four players were also paired together which made for high drama at the beautiful Mauna Lana Resort on the big island of Hawaii.
Coston had rounds of 71-70-68 for a -7 total and the championship.
“I struck the ball well and was patient the first two days. I made some nice putts down the stretch! It’s fun to feel the heat and play free, fearless golf That putt on the last hole felt like Steph Curry shooting a foul shot. Nothing but net! I’m grateful it was great fun!”Coston said after the tournament.
Coston heads home to Semiahmoo and his golf academy were he will be holding court for his students throughout 2016!
